Network

Network camp was a fantastic event where we could just kick back and relax.

What more do you need? Steak, beer, and a fire!

Four of our members took on the Yorkshire 3 peaks to try and complete them in under 12 hours. I am pleased to say all four of them managed to complete this. We also had two warm up walks on the peaks to get the members ready; we had great fun being in the outdoors and getting a bit wet and a bit cold.

One of our Program Co-ordinators organised a night event at Ogden Water. It was great fun playing around in the pitch-black hunting for glow sticks; except that all of us were scared of the noises coming from the dark!

Network attended Blackhills campsite for one of their September activities where they got the chance to take part in axe throwing and archery. In axe throwing, we got use both axes and knives. Turns out that not many of us can throw and hit a target; some were a bit better at Archery.

We visited The Race Centre in Halifax. This is a fantastic experience where you feel like you are driving a wide range of cars, from F1 cars past and present, to rally cars, around circuits we all know. Some of our members were a little competitive when it came to lap times. Just look at the concentration on their faces!!

One of our members is doing ice skating for their skill as part of their DofE Gold. Some of the members went along to keep them company. It looks like they had great fun and, even better, nobody lost a finger!

Network went to Thorton, where Bradford Fencing Club taught some of our members how to fence. It was a great event where everyone really enjoyed themselves. Some members have continued this experience and become coaches in Fencing. This is an event that we would definitely look to run again.
